What is ASAP Course Full Form?

ASAP Course Full Form  is the Additional Skill Acquisition Program. The program was launched in the state of Kerala by Government of Kerala, ASAP is designed to increase the skills of students and increase their employability by empowering them with relevant industry abilities.

Overview of ASAP

The program was launched as a collaboration by departments of Higher Education and General, Departments of General and Higher Education in Kerala, ASAP addresses the gaps in skills among students studying undergraduate and post-secondary education. The program is focused on teaching the fundamentals and specific knowledge to help students prepare for a changing job market.

Course Structure

ASAP’s training is split into two main parts:

  1. The Foundation Module (180 hours):
    • Communications English (100 hours): Enhances students ability to communicate in English by focusing on the effective communication skills necessary for working workplaces.
    • information technology (80 hours): Provides basic IT skills to ensure students are familiar with key digital and computer-related tools.
  2. The Skill Module (150 to 200 hours):
    • Provides training that is specialized in specific areas of industry which allows students to acquire a thorough understanding and experiences in their chosen area.

Furthermore, students are expected to finish a mandatory work experience of 150 hours giving them hands-on experience in real-world situations.

Unique Features of ASAP

  • Activities-Based Learning The emphasis is on practical training and five percent of learning is devoted to hands-on learning.
  • Professional Trainers for Industry: Training is provided by experts with extensive industry knowledge, which ensures the most current and accurate information transfer.
  • On-the-job Training: Certain courses include on-site training elements, which allow students to put their knowledge into practice in real work settings.
  • Certificate: Upon successful completion the students are awarded certificates through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) as well as The Government of Kerala,
  • Impact and Reach

Since its beginning, ASAP has trained a large number of students from Kerala and has contributed to an improved and more employable workforce. The program offers more than 150 classes across 19 different sectors which include Information Technology, Healthcare, Tourism, and many more. With its system that includes Community Skill Parks and Skill Development Centres, ASAP ensures accessibility and high-quality training in skills.

In sum it is clear that it is clear that the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) plays an essential role in bridging the gap in skills in Kerala’s youth, integrating education and industry needs and encouraging the culture of learning and professional development.
